RNA symposium speaker spotlight - Adrien Leger

Spotlight on an RNA symposium speaker from industry! Get to know Adrien Leger, Director of Modified Base Research at Oxford Nanopore Technologies. We're excited to welcome him with the talk "Simultaneous detection of eight modifications on single RNA molecules using nanopore direct RNA sequencing".

Learn more about him:

Dr. Adrien Leger is Director of Modified Base Research at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, where he leads efforts to expand the detection and interpretation of DNA and RNA modifications. His work lies at the intersection of molecular biology, epigenomics, bioinformatics, and machine learning, with a focus on developing tools and methods that empower others to drive innovation in functional genomics. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology and dual Master’s degrees in epigenomics and bioinformatics. Prior to joining Oxford Nanopore, he led a research team at INSERM on viral epigenetics and was a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow in the Birney group at EMBL-EBI, where he specialized in nanopore sequencing analysis and software development. Adrien is the author of several widely used open-source tools—including NanoCount, pycoMeth, and pycoQC—for transcript quantification and epigenetic analysis. His work has been published in various high impact journals and cited over 1,000 times. He is passionate about tackling technical scientific challenges and advancing the frontiers of sequencing-based biology.).
